Abstract
Waste Management Free Tourism Program Based on Waste Management in the Mandeh Tourism Area of Pesisir Selatan Regency
This community service aims to increase community knowledge and awareness in managing household waste into economical products. The method used is to apply the concept of zero waste management or reduce waste independently by collecting, selecting, and managing dry waste. The results of dedication show that (1) a caring or environmentally conscious group or community has been formed, namely the Nagari Mandeh Waste-Free Environmental Care Group consisting of Housewives; (2) an increase in community knowledge and understanding of waste management and environmental awareness by not littering as seen from the behavior of collecting and sorting waste; and (3) increasing people's understanding of the management of dry waste into products that have economic value and can bring income to those who are seen from behaviors that have used waste to become economic products such as decorative broomsticks made from palm leaves and plastic waste and accessories (brooches), decorative bun, box pins, and once) from waste plastic.
